The Purim to Passover (and beyond!) Project Needs YOU!

We at Films That Change The World, along with our partners at Keshet and Just Vision, are very excited for the launch of the Purim to Passover Project. Over the past few weeks, we have been busy editing the site, preparing discussion guides and resources, and laying the groundwork of the campaign. Now that everything is ready, though, we need YOU: to host a screening party, invite your friends and community, to frame the discussion after the film.

So, think about which film, or films, you'd like to show. Perhaps you've been looking for a way to spark discussion about GLBT issues in your community: approach the rabbi at your synagogue about showing one of these films as an evening event. Hineini's story of a courageous teenager fighting to change her school's environment is perfect for youth groups and teachers. And Encounter Point's story of Israelis and Palestinians coming together to talk honestly about their experiences and perspectives in order to build peace from the ground up is key for all of us in these war-torn times.

This spring, honor these risk-takers by taking a risk of your own and organizing a screening. All the resources you need are right here on the site!

Very ambitious but totally possible with the right support

Good luck to you on this. You may check out bravenewtheaters.com and see if you can reach out to those who have put on screenings in the past. Also a video tutorial on setting up projectors and sound equipment may be a nice touch. And possibly just hitting the road with a projector and sound system in a vehicle could be a very engaging way to make a good number of these screenings happen where you have the space but where they lack the equipment. And if you want, you could hit up Brian Chirls, we hired him to work with us on self distributing Four Eyed Monsters and he helped us get to a lot of theaters and with web tools to back it up. Find him at Chirls.com, he and his family share the same faith so I think he's an appropriate character to loop reach out to.
Again, good luck, more ambitions like this will pave the way to the future reality of a true non-corporate micro cinema network that films can simply plug in to.
